FAQs

  • Well done for writing the script! You have 2 options (and we recommend you do both!):

Firstly, you can post the longline into our Facebook group and tell people to message / email you if they’re interested. We recommend you title your post with what you’re looking for e.g. ‘Producer call out’

Secondly, at the start of every term, we host a social to meet other filmmakers. At the start of the social, we offer the opportunity for both greenlit projects and projects in development (i.e. only have a script or an idea) to present it to the room.

This is a very relaxed environment, full of other students with similar interests and who want to collaborate with you, so please do not be intimidated.

Presentation will be no longer than a minute or two, and after presentations have finished, everyone is free to socialise. We hope through this you find a collaborator!

  • We understand making your first film can be a daunting process. We recommend taking a crew role on another student’s film to get a taste of how student film is at Oxford. Keep an eye on the Facebook for ‘crew call outs’. We want to support first time filmmakers as much as we can, so please do read all the resources we provide and if you’re free, come along to our free socials (see our term card for when/where they are) to have a chat with us and meet other filmmakers.

Lastly please check out our production guide for the 10 first steps to making a short film at Oxford:
